Since its entry into the Lithuanian market in 2016, Betsson has been making significant strides, recently transitioning to a more expansive office space in the heart of Vilnius. This move signifies more than just a change in location; it’s part of a broader strategy to strengthen its foothold in various global markets.

Initially gaining traction through the acquisition of TonyBet, Betsson rebranded this operation as Betsafe the following year. Over time, Betsafe has become a well-known name in Lithuania; however, the latest development sees the complete integration of this brand into the Betsson umbrella. This strategic rebranding aims to enhance brand consistency and expand recognition in an increasingly competitive landscape. Customers who have been using Betsafe will find continuity in services, as they can retain their login credentials.

"Lithuania has played a pivotal role in our growth journey," stated Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Group. "This rebranding is a logical progression for us." He emphasized that consolidating their brands under Betsson not only enables synergistic marketing opportunities but also bolsters their global identity while maintaining a commitment to customer service excellence.

Investment in Local Operations

The rebranding comes on the heels of Betsson’s recent investment in a larger office in Vilnius’s Central Business District, with the new space accommodating around 40 employees across various departments, including sales, payments, and customer support. This move underscores Betsson’s commitment to establishing a robust operational base in Lithuania.

In addition to its local expansion, Betsson has forged partnerships that align with its long-term objectives. The group is actively involved in the community, notably as the title sponsor of the Lithuanian Basketball League, while also supporting both men’s and women’s national basketball teams. Furthermore, their sponsorship of FC Žalgiris has solidified their presence in the Lithuanian sports scene.

"This rebranding coincides with our larger international marketing efforts," Betsson stated. "By investing in prominent sports sponsorships, we not only boost brand visibility but also create additional value for local markets like Lithuania, enhancing cross-market engagement."
