Stefan Bomhard Joins Flutter Entertainment’s Board: A New Era of Leadership
Stefan Bomhard, a seasoned executive in the consumer goods sector, has taken on a pivotal role as a non-executive director at Flutter Entertainment, marking a significant new chapter in his career.
Effective October 1, Bomhard’s appointment follows his tenure as CEO at Imperial Brands, where he has led the company for the past five years. His decision to transition comes as he prepares to conclude his executive duties at Imperial by year’s end, a move he had previously announced as part of his retirement plans.
A Wealth of Industry Expertise
Bomhard’s extensive background includes influential positions at renowned brands such as Bacardi, Cadbury, Unilever Food Solutions Europe, Diageo, and Procter & Gamble. His diverse experience equips him with a deep understanding of consumer marketing and operations. Currently, he also serves as a non-executive director at Compass Group, a leading catering provider.
John Bryant, chair of Flutter’s board, expressed confidence in Bomhard’s prospective contributions, highlighting the rigorous process that led to his selection. "Stefan has substantial international experience, particularly in the sales and marketing domains of prominent consumer brands,” Bryant noted.
Flutter’s Growing Footprint
In light of recent financial results, Flutter Entertainment is experiencing robust growth. The company reported a 16% rise in overall revenue for Q2, totaling $4.19 billion, with its international division contributing significantly to this success. Notably, revenue from international operations surged by 15%, reaching $2.4 billion. Adjusted EBITDA for this segment also saw a notable increase of 13%, driven primarily by a remarkable 63% revenue growth in Southern Europe when accounting for constant currency.
Bomhard’s track record in enhancing brand visibility and market penetration positions him as a valuable asset as Flutter Entertainment continues to expand its global presence.
